Determining reference files

In normal mode, the result window displays 2 types of files: dupe and reference. The reference files are the files offsetted to the left with the grayed checkbox.

The dupes are the files offsetted to the right with a black checkbox.

You can delete dupes, you can't delete references. In some cases, you might consider that the dupe should be reference, and the reference should be dupe (the occurence of these cases can be greatly minimized by setting you file criterias more accurately in your profile, so Mp3 Filter can determine their weight better.). Turning the file details on with the view detail button helps to determine the weight of a file. When you find a dupe file that should be reference, you can always switch that file to reference by selecting the dupe file, and clicking on the Switch with ref. button .
