MPL Editor
The MPL files are the virtual representation of your music collection. If your collection is
on removable media (like CDs), you will need to use the MPL files if you want to scan for
duplicates using all your CDs as a reference.
Build a Mp3 List
Let's assume your collection is on CD.
- Click on New Mp3 List.
- Choose a name for your list, and click ok.
- Select the list you just created.
- Insert a CD of your collection in your drive.
- Click on Add Volume
- Select your CD-ROM drive containing your Mp3 CD and click OK.
-
Choose a volume name for that CD. Choose a name that can uniquely
and easily identify that particular CD. The best thing to do is to write what
is written on the CD itself (For most people, CD1, CD2, CD3 etc..) . Click OK.
-
Wait for Mp3 Filter to add your files to your MPL. It can be quite long because
Mp3 Filter will store ID3 tags and a checksum of it's content (Yes! You can
use content to compare MPL files!).
- Add every CD of your collection.
- Click on Save changes
